Image Reflected - Pleasure Symbols

mrtilleysmusicplay

When it comes to music, I'm a firm believer that the best songs are the ones that can transport you to another world. That's why I was so thrilled to discover "Image Reflected" by Pleasure Symbols. This song is a true masterpiece, with its slow, deliberate beat and hauntingly beautiful vocals.

From the moment I heard the opening notes, I was hooked. The chiming of the guitar reminded me of the Cure's gothic period, especially their iconic album "Pornography." There's something about that slow, moody sound that just draws me in, like a moth to a flame.

But it's the vocals that really make this song stand out. They're haunting and ethereal, with a raw, emotional quality that sends shivers down my spine. The singer's voice reminds me of Siouxsie Sioux of the Banshees, with its ghostly beauty and sense of longing.

Throughout the song, the jangling of the guitar continues, adding to its hypnotic, dreamlike quality. It's like a lullaby for the soul, a gentle reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is beauty and hope to be found.

What really strikes me about this song is how it pays tribute to the past beauties of new wave and gothic rock. As someone who grew up listening to these genres, I've always had a soft spot for their introspective lyrics and lush, atmospheric soundscapes.

And yet, so much of modern music seems to have moved away from these influences, in favor of more upbeat, poppy sounds. So to hear a song that so perfectly captures the essence of these musical movements is truly a delight.

It's like stepping into a time machine and being transported back to the 1980s, a time when music was moody and introspective, and the lyrics were full of poetic longing and melancholy. But at the same time, this song feels fresh and new, like a love letter to a bygone era that's still alive and well.

In a world that can often feel overwhelming and chaotic, it's music like this that provides a refuge, a place where we can lose ourselves in the beauty of sound and the power of emotion. So if you're a fan of new wave or gothic rock, I highly recommend giving "Image Reflected" by Pleasure Symbols a listen. It's a true gem, and a testament to the enduring power of music to transport and inspire us.
