The Full Story

Tilley’s Music Guidance (TMG) is a platform dedicated to uncovering the best in underground, independent, and alternative music. Whether it’s Dreampop, Post-Punk, Synthwave, Shoegaze, or Alt-Rock, I’m here to spotlight artists who are pushing boundaries — and often overlooked by mainstream media.

This isn’t just a blog. It’s a passion project grounded in personal experience and cultural insight. My love for music started early: sitting on my dad’s lap while Bob Dylan and The Beatles played on vinyl. Those moments shaped everything. Music became more than just a sound — it became a way to understand the world.

That connection deepened when I studied Media and the Creative Industries at university, where I focused my final-year project on unsigned talent and the evolving music industry. I learned how digital tools have shifted power away from labels and into the hands of artists — but also how hard it can still be for those artists to find their audience.

That’s where TMG comes in. This site is here to help listeners find the sounds they didn’t know they were missing — and to help artists get the recognition they deserve. I write honest, passionate reviews, feature artist interviews, and curate playlists that cut through the noise.

I focus on genres that have heart and history — music that feels timeless and boundary-pushing at once. From Coldwave and Darkwave to jangly Indie and 80s-infused Alt-Pop, TMG is for people who want more from their music.
